Joshua Tree CDJR lifetime powertrain warranty coverage for new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles

What's Covered Under Joshua Tree CDJR's Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

Every new vehicle you buy from Joshua Tree Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram comes with a lifetime powertrain limited warranty, provided by the dealership at no additional cost. Unlike a bumper-to-bumper warranty that covers electronics, cabin technology, and convenience features, a powertrain warranty protects the mechanical components that keep your vehicle moving — the engine, transmission, and drive axle assemblies. Here's exactly what that means, what's covered, what isn't, and how the coverage works.

What the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty Covers

This coverage focuses on the major internal, lubricated components of your powertrain. Based on the warranty's Schedule of Coverage, protected parts include:

Engine

The cylinder block and all internal parts, cylinder head assemblies, timing components (chain, belt, gears, sprockets, guides, tensioners), oil pump, intake manifold, flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, a factory-installed turbocharger or supercharger and its internal parts, and engine sensors including the oxygen sensor, mass airflow sensor, EGR valve, and crank/cam sensors.

Engine Cooling System

Water pump and housing, fan clutch, thermostat, radiator, heater core, and recovery tank.

Transmission (Automatic)

The transmission case and all internal parts, torque converter, valve body, mechatronics unit, transmission control module, speed and pressure sensors, servo assemblies, and transmission cooler.

Transmission (Manual)

Main shaft, counter shaft, all gears, input shaft, synchronizers, shift rails and forks, and internal bearings. Note: manual transmission clutch parts are never covered.

Drive Axles (Front & Rear)

Transaxle or axle housing internals, axle shaft assemblies, constant velocity (CV) joints and boots, drive shaft assemblies and center bearings, universal joints, and wheel bearing/hub assemblies.

Because this coverage attaches to eligible new vehicles, you can explore our new Jeep lineup, new Ram lineup, or new Dodge models to see the vehicles it applies to.

What's Not Covered

A powertrain warranty is not an all-inclusive plan. It excludes routine maintenance and wear items, as well as damage from outside causes. Not covered:

  • Maintenance and wear items: filters, fluids (except when required in conjunction with a covered repair), spark plugs, belts, and hoses
  • Brake and suspension components: brake pads, rotors, and suspension shocks
  • Manual clutch components: clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing
  • Damage from outside causes: flood, fire, impact, accident, rust and corrosion, water ingestion, carbon or sludge buildup, and fluid leaks
  • Modified vehicles: any vehicle altered beyond the manufacturer's specifications (lift kits, lowering kits, non-spec wheels/tires, engine or exhaust modifications)

Your Deductible — $0 When You Return to Us

$0 Deductible per claim visit at Joshua Tree CDJR

One of the most valuable features of this warranty is its deductible structure. When you bring your vehicle back to Joshua Tree CDJR for a covered repair, your deductible is $0 per claim visit. If you have a covered repair performed elsewhere, the deductible is $250 per claim visit. Returning to our service department for warranty work is the most cost-effective way to use your coverage.

Warranty coverage is subject to the full terms, conditions, and exclusions of the written Limited Warranty provided at the time of purchase. Coverage details, deductible amounts, and maintenance requirements are governed by that document. See the dealership for complete details.

Additional Benefits

Beyond parts and labor on covered repairs, the warranty includes two extra benefits in the event of a covered breakdown:

Towing

Up to $100 per occurrence for a covered breakdown.

Rental / Alternate Transportation

Up to $35 per day for up to 10 days (or until the repair is complete, whichever comes first) if your vehicle must be kept overnight for a covered repair.

How the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty Compares to Your Factory Warranty

Your new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram vehicle also comes with a factory powertrain limited warranty. The standard factory powertrain coverage runs 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first (source: Mopar / FCA US warranty documentation).

Good to know

For 2026 model-year vehicles, FCA introduced an extended powertrain limited warranty of up to 10 years or 100,000 miles for the original owner, with battery electric vehicles excluded.

The dealer-provided lifetime powertrain warranty is designed to continue protecting your engine, transmission, and drive axles for as long as you own the vehicle, with no mileage cap or expiration date — extending coverage past the limits of the factory warranty.

How Coverage Works: Administrator, Claims, and Keeping It Active

This is a limited warranty administered by Ascent Administration Services, LLC (Mesa, AZ; 866-660-7003). The dealership provides the coverage to you at no cost with your purchase; Ascent administers claims. A few things to know about how it works:

Filing a claim

Before any repairs begin, the repair facility must contact the Administrator at 866-660-7003 to open a claim and obtain an authorization number. If your vehicle is within 50 miles of the dealership, you return it to us for repair; if it's more than 50 miles away, call the Administrator first for instructions.

Ask first

Any repairs performed prior to authorization will not be covered.

Keeping coverage active

You must maintain your vehicle according to the manufacturer's recommended service schedule in your owner's manual, and retain your maintenance and repair records as proof. Returning to Joshua Tree CDJR for your maintenance is a convenient way to keep documented records — and remember, it also waives your deductible on covered repairs.

What can void coverage

Protect your coverage

Failure to maintain the vehicle per the manufacturer's requirements, modifying the vehicle beyond factory specifications, or an inoperative or altered odometer can void the warranty.

Contract Terms and Transferability

Once your lifetime powertrain warranty is documented in your purchase paperwork, it is a binding limited warranty. Always confirm the coverage is stated in writing at the time of purchase — the coverage details and your maintenance responsibilities should be clearly laid out in the contract.

Note that this limited warranty is non-transferable — it applies to you as the original purchaser and does not transfer if you sell or trade the vehicle. It was provided at no cost with your purchase and is non-cancellable and non-refundable.

Common Questions

Is there a deductible for repairs?

Your deductible is $0 per claim visit when you return your vehicle to Joshua Tree CDJR for the covered repair. If the repair is performed at a non-dealer facility, the deductible is $250 per claim visit.

Where can I have covered repairs performed?

Repairs must be authorized by the Administrator before work begins. If your vehicle is within 50 miles of the dealership, you return it to us; beyond 50 miles, call the Administrator at 866-660-7003 for instructions. Routine maintenance should follow your manufacturer's schedule, with records retained.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the vehicle?

No. This dealer-provided lifetime powertrain warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

Are hybrid and electric vehicle batteries covered?

High-voltage batteries, electric drive motors, and charging systems are covered under the separate manufacturer hybrid/EV component warranty, not this powertrain warranty. Federal rules require at least 8 years or 100,000 miles of coverage for most EV and hybrid high-voltage batteries (source: U.S. Department of Energy / EPA).

Is there a limit on what the warranty will pay?

Yes. The limit of liability at the time of a claim is the vehicle's Actual Cash Value (based on the current J.D. Power NADA "Clean Value"). The total of all benefits paid over the life of the warranty will not exceed the price you paid for the vehicle.

Protecting Your Long-Term Investment

Major engine or transmission repairs can cost thousands of dollars out of pocket. A lifetime powertrain warranty helps insulate you from those costs for as long as you own your vehicle — and because it's included at no extra charge on eligible new vehicles from Joshua Tree CDJR, it adds long-term value without adding to your purchase price.
