A New Ram Truck for Every Job in Yucca Valley
The new Ram truck lineup at Joshua Tree CDJR runs from the light-duty Ram 1500 to the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 Heavy Duty pickups. For 2026, the Ram 1500 offers four distinct powertrains, including the returning 5.7-liter HEMI® V8, while the Heavy Duty trucks pair a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 with an available High-Output 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel. Whether you commute from Yucca Valley, tow toward Twentynine Palms or haul equipment across the high desert, there is a Ram built for the work.
| Model | Engines | Max Towing | Max Payload |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ram 1500 | 3.6L Pentastar® V6 eTorque, 5.7L HEMI V8 eTorque, 3.0L Hurricane I6 (Standard and High Output) | 11,610 lbs | 2,360 lbs |
| Ram 2500 Heavy Duty | 6.4L HEMI V8, High-Output 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 | 20,000 lbs | 3,930 lbs |
| Ram 3500 Heavy Duty | 6.4L HEMI V8, High-Output 6.7L Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 | 36,610 lbs | 7,590 lbs |
Maximum towing and payload capacity figures are based on properly equipped vehicles and vary by configuration. Do not exceed any weight rating. See your owner's manual and the vehicle's door-jamb label for specific capacities.
Ram 1500: Four Ways to Power a Half-Ton
After a one-year absence from the 2025 lineup, the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque is back in the 2026 Ram 1500, joining the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six in Standard and High Output tunes and the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque. The Pentastar V6 remains standard on the entry trims, paired with a TorqueFlite® 8 eight-speed automatic, and returns an EPA-Estimated 19 mpg city / 24 mpg highway in four-wheel drive and an EPA-Estimated 20 mpg city / 25 mpg highway in rear-wheel drive.
EPA-estimated fuel economy figures are for comparison purposes only. Your actual mileage will vary depending on driving conditions, how you drive and maintain your vehicle, battery age/condition, and other factors.
| Ram 1500 Engine | Output | Torque | Max Towing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3.6L Pentastar V6 w/ eTorque | 305 hp | 269 lb-ft | 8,130 lbs |
| 5.7L HEMI V8 w/ eTorque | 395 hp | 410 lb-ft | 11,320 lbs |
| 3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo I6 — Standard Output | 420 hp | 469 lb-ft | 11,610 lbs |
| 3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo I6 — High Output | 540 hp | 521 lb-ft | 10,000 lbs |
The 11,610-pound maximum is a build specification, not a trim level: it requires the Standard Output Hurricane, Quad Cab with the 6-foot-4-inch box, a 4x2 drivetrain, the 3.92 rear axle ratio and the Trailer-Tow Group. Maximum payload runs up to 2,360 pounds with the lighter Pentastar V6, though maximum tow and maximum payload cannot be achieved in the same configuration. The High Output Hurricane’s 540 horsepower is what Ram substantiates as Best-in-Class available six-cylinder horsepower.
Maximum towing and payload capacity figures are based on properly equipped vehicles and vary by configuration. Do not exceed any weight rating. See your owner's manual and the vehicle's door-jamb label for specific capacities.
2026 model-year specifications, equipment and availability are preliminary and subject to change. Ram 1500 powertrain, towing and payload figures shown are sourced from Ram’s official 2026 Ram 1500 Payload & Towing Guide. Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty: When the Trailer Gets Bigger
Every 2026 Ram Heavy Duty pickup starts with the 6.4-liter HEMI V8, rated at 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque and paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic. The available High-Output 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel inline-six steps up to 430 horsepower and 1,075 lb-ft of torque through a TorqueFlite HD eight-speed automatic, a figure Ram markets as Best-in-Class available base diesel torque.
| Model & Engine | Max Towing | Max Payload |
|---|---|---|
| Ram 2500 — 6.4L HEMI V8 | 17,740 lbs | 3,930 lbs |
| Ram 2500 — 6.7L Cummins HO | 20,000 lbs | 3,600 lbs |
| Ram 3500 — 6.4L HEMI V8 | 18,150 lbs | 7,590 lbs |
| Ram 3500 — 6.7L Cummins HO | 36,610 lbs | 6,050 lbs |
The two Heavy Duty models ride differently. The Ram 2500 uses a five-link coil rear suspension with an available automatic-leveling rear air suspension, while the Ram 3500 keeps a Hotchkiss leaf-spring rear with an available supplemental air suspension for heavier loads. For 2026, select Heavy Duty models also gain up to 850 pounds of gross vehicle weight rating through revised testing and certification procedures.
If your weekends point toward dirt instead of a job site, the Ram 2500 offers three off-road options. The new-for-2026 Warlock adds an anti-spin rear differential, Bilstein® shocks, underbody skid plates and 34-inch all-terrain tires; the Rebel® balances trail hardware with everyday comfort; and the Power Wagon remains Ram’s most off-road-capable production full-size pickup.

Warranty Coverage on Every New 2026 Ram Truck
Every new 2026 Ram pickup carries a three-year/36,000-mile basic limited warranty and 24-hour roadside assistance for five years or 60,000 miles. For 2026, Ram extended powertrain coverage on the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 to ten years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, for the original retail owner — coverage the brand markets as America's Best Full-Size Truck Powertrain Limited Warranty. Battery-electric models are excluded. The extension is non-transferable; second and subsequent owners revert to Ram’s standard five-year powertrain terms, and fleet and commercial purchases are excluded. At Joshua Tree CDJR, that coverage sits alongside our High Desert Promise, which includes Lifetime Powertrain Protection on all new vehicles.
